Rob Hare's Bit Of The WWW

Hi, my name is Rob Hare and this is my very own little bit of the World Wide Web. Please come in and look around, I hope that you enjoy what you see. I will introduce you to myself and my family, and tell you a little about ourselves. I have been married to Tracy since June 1994 and Chelsey was born in September that same year.

I was born on December 3rd, 1960. I work for Leeds City Council as an Admin/Finance clerk. I have been there since March 1997. My duties mainly involve raising finances for the Council. Tracy is an administrator for City Learning Centre in Wakefield. Her main duties involve making sure that the College runs smoothly and people are booked in to the correct courses. The main Course that they offer is City & Guilds in Information Technology. This is Microsoft Word, Access and Excel up to level 2.

I have been a fan of Leeds United ever since their relegation to the old Second Division in 1982, although I did used to watch them on and off in the 70's. One of my greatest experiences was going to a training session at Elland Road in 1993 and getting my shirt signed by all the Championship winning squad from the previous year. I also had my photograph taken with Eric Cantona. I have since had my shirt signed by various members of later squads and it is my prized possession.

I am also a big fan of Rugby League and my team is Featherstone Rovers. I went to watch them at Wembley in 1973 when they beat Bradford Northern (now the Bulls) by 33-14. I also went to watch them again at Wembley in 1983 when they caused one of the biggest Cup Final upsets ever when beating very-much fancied Hull, 14-12.

Apart from my family, my biggest love is music. I bought my first single in 1974, which was "Sugar Baby Love" by the Rubettes. I have always been a fan of theirs and finally, last year, I managed to get to see them in concert, along with Alvin Stardust and Suzi Quatro. I not only got to see the Rubettes, but I also got to meet them and get a CD signed as well.

These are the Rubettes.

Unfortunately, they aren't

wearing their trademark berets!

Various other artists I am into include Iron Maiden, U2, Beautiful South, Status Quo and Queen. My favourite era for music was the 70's and I was into bands such as Mud, Showaddywaddy, Ten CC and Abba. My favourite band of all time was After The Fire who I saw 6 times in concert. Unfortunately, they disbanded in 1982 and I was at their farewell gig at London's Dominion Theatre. To visit an After The Fire Site, please click on the photograph below. They reformed in 2004 and performed at the Greenbelt festival and did a "Friends Up North" gig in Stafford in 2005. They have a new singer, Keith Smith, drummer Matt Russell and bass guitarist, Ian Niblo but they still sound really good!

As you can see, my musical tastes are really varied, and it depends on what mood I'm in.
